February is Heart Health Awareness Month, a time that means everything to our family.
Our firstborn son was diagnosed in utero with a congenital heart defect (CHD) — the most common birth defect in children. He fought bravely during his short 18 days on Earth before going to be with Jesus.

Since 2013, we’ve committed to speaking boldly about CHD — not only to honor him but to spread awareness that leads to understanding, support, and research. There is currently no cure for CHDs, but research and medical developments have advanced tremendously — even since our son’s journey — and every voice helps push that progress forward.
